Best Paper Awards

Select one paper from the submitted full papers for the "Prof. Lung-Wen Tsai Memorial Award" and one for the "Prof. Ching-Huan Tseng Memorial Award," each carrying a prize of NT$10,000. Several papers will also receive awards of distinction and commendation. Only full papers are eligible for competition for the Best Paper awards.

02

Best Doctoral Dissertation and Best Master's Thesis Award

※ To recognize outstanding student theses, awards are established for master's and doctoral students as follows:

  1. For doctoral dissertation, one Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award with a prize of NT$10,000, two Excellent Doctoral Thesis Awards with NT$8,000 each, and additional recognition for the awarded students and their advisors.

  2. For master's theses, one Outstanding Master's Thesis Award with a prize of NT$8,000, three Excellent Master's Thesis Awards with NT$5,000 each, and additional recognition for the awarded students and their advisors.

※ The supervising professors recommend the theses submitted for selection each year, and both the supervising professors and recommended students must be members of the association.
※ The recommended theses must meet the following criteria:

  1. The content of the thesis should be primarily research-oriented, with innovation in theoretical, experimental, or machine design aspects being eligible for recommendation. However, the thesis must be the graduating thesis of the current academic year.

  2. Text and Format: Limited to Chinese and English, with at least a Chinese abstract and other requirements that may follow the graduation thesis format of each university.

  3.  Applicants for the "Master's and Doctoral Thesis Award" must simultaneously submit a paper to the "Annual Meeting of the Chinese Society of Mechanism and Machine Theory" for the same year. Submission of the manuscript is mandatory during the application process; failure to do so will render the application incomplete and ineligible for consideration.

※ Each advising professor may recommend a maximum of one master's or doctoral thesis. Along with the recommended thesis, the submission must include a letter of recommendation from the advising professor, a summary of the thesis's main contributions, evidence of previous conference paper submissions, the student's curriculum vitae, and proof of membership, compiled into a hard copy. Additionally, the thesis, main contribution summary, and student curriculum vitae must be compiled into an electronic file (PDF format) and stored on a disk or CD, to be sent to the Secretariat of the Association before September, 13th. (Address: No. 17, Lane 37, Taichung Industrial Zone, Taichung City 407, The Chinese Society of Mechanism and Machine Theory).
※ The award-winning theses are evaluated by the association's academic committee, which convenes a selection meeting with at least five committee members, not limited to association members, appointed by the academic committee.
※ After evaluation by the association, the awards winners will be announced and awarded the certificate and prize money at the current year's annual meeting.
※ These regulations shall be implemented upon approval by the association's board of directors, and amendments shall also be subject to the same process. Encouragement is given to participate in the Outstanding Master's and Ph.D. Thesis Awards by submitting full papers or abstracts for this year's conference.
